Operation Christmas Child

Let’s start collecting items for Operation Christmas Child, an annual project of Samaritan’s Purse, we’ll be creating gift-filled shoe boxes and Gospel storybooks to millions of poor and suffering children in over 90 countries. Last year they were able to give over 7 million of these shoeboxes to children around the world! The shoe boxes must be turned in the week of November 12-17th so please put your shoe box together and bring it to the church as soon as possible. Please place your completed shoe boxes under the tree in the auditiorium. See below for the items to put in the box or donate money to Jeff as we will be putting together boxes also with the teens!

Age groups are 5-9 years and 10-14 years
Please select if it's for a boy or girl

Fill the boxes with the following items:
TOYS
small cars, balls, dolls, stuffed animals, kazoos, harmonicas, yo-yos, jump ropes, small Etch A Sketch®, toys that light up or make noise (with extra batteries), Slinky®, etc.
SCHOOL SUPPLIES
pens, pencils and sharpener, crayons or markers, stamps and ink pad sets, writing pads or paper, solar calculators, coloring and picture books, etc.
HYGIENE ITEMS
toothbrush, toothpaste, mild bar soap (in a plastic bag), comb, washcloth, etc.
OTHER
Hard candy and lollipops (please double bag all candy), mints, gum, T-shirts, socks, ball caps; sunglasses, hair clips, toy jewelry, watches, flashlights (with extra batteries)
A PERSONAL NOTE
In a separate envelope, you may enclose a note to the child and a photo of yourself or your family. (If you include your name and address, the child may write back.)
Do Not Include:Used or damaged items; war-related items such as toy guns, knives or military figures; chocolate or food; liquids or lotions; medications or vitamins; breakable items such as snow globes or glass containers; aerosol cans

Hey everyone...so great you are doing this project! We actually receive these shoe boxes at my churchc in Pohrebyshche, Ukraine! Small world, huh. I wanted to make one comment though, try not to send any candyin the boxes because it always melts and leaks all over everything else in the box. Even if it is in a sealed package, something seems to happen in transit that makes it pop open.
I just wanted to let you know about that, so the kids can get great packages that aren't all sticky :)
